We are pleased to share a video that has been created to accompany the Trust’s 2025 AGM. The video begins with an introduction from Dr Sandy Nairn, Executive Director, Global Opportunities Trust plc, who explains the context in which the Trust invested over the course of 2024.
This is followed by a “deep dive” into the Trust’s investment philosophy and process by Alan Bartlett, Partner and Board Member of Goodhart Partners LLP. Alan also introduces the concept of “agile investing,” and considers the importance of flexibility and focus in a fundamentally changed investment environment, in which four powerful forces appear set to drive markets over the decades to come.
This is followed by a review and analysis of the performance of the Global Opportunities Trust plc in 2024, and in the early months of 2025. The film finishes with an overview of Goodhart’s expanding investment team, which supports the Trust, including discussions between Alan and European equities specialist James Sym, and global growth equities specialist Russell Champion.
